Developing Pathways

We are developing Pathways for Students to Progress from ​Beginners to National and International Squash Players.

​Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness has partnered with East Coast Squash Academy to provide the ideal training opportunity and environment for Sydney University students to grow into elite players and professionals; ultimately raising the profile of squash to a level where it is recognised as a significant sport within Australia.

East Coast Squash Academy was founded in 2013 by Aaron Frankcomb, former World #38 and current No.1 in NSW. 
 
The coaching programs have been developed by squash professionals with strong international reputations. The partnership has been set up to attract top juniors to participate in the programs either via squash camps or to join the coaching classes.
 
The professional coaches are headed by former professional player Aaron Frankcomb, who has strong international networks and coaching reputation. Frankcomb is a former World number 38 and has represented Australia both as a junior and more recently at the Delhi Commonwealth Games. In 2013, Aaron was on a team of coaches for the NSW Junior State team at the Australian Junior Championships.
 
Aaron Frankcomb's personal involvement ensures that East Coast Squash Academy can provide top level coaching to students who are keen to compete at a national and international level.

Small Group Classes ​for Beginners
​

  • Suited for beginners (up to 70 matrix points) or first-time participants.
  • Provides the perfect introduction to the basics of the game including swing, movement, strategy and an understanding of the rules.
  • Includes intensive cardio work so players get the best mix of fitness and technique within a small class size.
  • Maximum 6 players on two courts.

Clinics – Two Hour Sessions ​for Elite Players​
  • The 2-hour session format accelerates learning and retention for critical elements of squash. Involving multiple players and focused feedback, the interactive session is designed to combine theoretical learning with practical application.
     
    What’s included:
  • Multi-player participation of similar standard to improve feedback and demonstration.
  • Structured delivery for the attainment of specific outcomes.
  • Video analysis for all clinics except the learn to play squash clinic.

Intermediate Group Classes ​for Players with Moderate Skills  
  • For players from 70-160 matrix points.
  • Different theme each week to build a firm foundation.
  • Includes feeding, drills, routines, and conditioned games.
  • Maximum 6 players on two courts.

Short Intensity ​Interval Training (SHIIT) Sessions
  • SHIIT Sessions are most suited for players who want to achieve the breakthrough they need to progress from mediocrity to playing at an elite level.
  • These sessions that are structured to help players quickly replace incorrect playing techniques with the correct ones. With concentration and focus, players can push through physical, technical, psychological limits and barriers
  • Each session has a specific outcome with drills, routines and exercises designed to focus on specific skill/ability development. The sessions combine movement and technical development.

Advanced Group Classes ​for Players with Advanced Skills
  • For players over 160 matrix points.
  • Expands on existing skills by targeted one aspect of the game at a time.
  • Includes feeding, drills, routines, conditioned games, and match play.
  • Maximum 6 players on two courts.

One-on-One ​Private Coaching
​

  • This is the pinnacle of our premier service. Players are coached by Aaron Frankcomb on individual aspects of the game requiring improvement.
  • Aaron provides the edge players need to turn their weaknesses into strengths.
  • With the help of Aaron’s coaching, players will develop advanced next-level skills to achieve mastery, regardless of age or current ability
